Kevin Cyr paints trucks, vans, and cars with an almost photo realist attention to detail. Yet there's something playful about the images, reminiscent of matchbox toy cars. Born in Canada in 1976, Kevin Cyr received a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and is now based in Brooklyn, New York. The intro to Kevin's artist statement describes his interest:
In a culture in which people are easily lured by the appeal of status-enhancing symbols, I find beauty in derelict cars and unkempt landscapes.
