Amazing art made from recycled goods and trash

posted in: featured art, Sculpture | 2
Following up on yesterday's post on UniquEco and their amazing work recycling flip flops into art and goods, I wanted to feature some artists who accomplish a rare achievement, truly transforming garbage and used goods into beautiful works of art. Artist Jean Shin creates beautiful large-scale sculptures and installations, often from used goods or items donated from the community. Her works have been displayed at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and many other places worldwide. She was born in Seoul, South Korea, and now lives in New York City. .

. Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1983, Erika Iris Simmons began showing her work in 2008 and has been in group shows at the Arizona Museum for Youth in Mesa, AZ, and at the Peninsula School of Art. On a pop note - her work inspired the Bruno Mars video "Just the Way You Are" (my teenage daughter saw Erika's cool art work and said, hey, that's just like the Bruno Mars video). .

  1. (Recycled) Material could be used better ways than to work of art, sad
though to throw a way things so work of art is more less harmful to environment than just but it to dumpster. So we should but all trash to museums and museum storage for THE next generation. : )
