Born in 1980, Miles "Mac" MacGregor creates striking and sublime street murals featuring large-scale portraits and figures. He also creates beautiful photo realism paintings, brushwork portraits, and drawings that can all be seen on his website. He gets inspiration from sources ranging from graffiti to old masters like Carvaggio and Vermeer to the local Mexican and Chicano culture around his hometown of Phoneix. He often collaborates with other artists, particularly with Retna who often paints the lettering and pattern backgrounds to Mac's portrait murals. Mac's blog provides a great overview of the story behind his murals.

Here are some Phoenix locations. I am trying to find “La Nuestra Senora” it is a few years old, and at least one Mac in PHX has been painted over.

I love the bright colors and bold characters. I live in Phoenix and we’ll see those two works in person. Incredible!
